Evening Operations Supervisor – Commercial Cleaning
$18.50–$19.00/hour + $1,000 sign-on bonus | Rapid City, SD
Own the evening operation. Lead the crew. Protect the client relationship after the building goes quiet.
We are hiring a hands-on Evening Operations Supervisor to run commercial cleaning across multiple client sites in Rapid City. This is a first-line management role: you set the pace, inspect the work, coach the team, and close out the night so clients walk into a building that meets standard every morning.
If you like leading from the floor — not from an office — this is the job.
Compensation and benefits
Starting pay: $18.50–$19.00 per hour
$1,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates
Paid time off
Paid training
Referral bonus program
Consistent full-time evening hours (no rotating weekday shifts)
Stable, on-site work with a crew that needs a clear leader
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 4:30 p.m. to approximately midnight
Rotating weekend on-call support
Work is performed on-site at commercial client locations in Rapid City, SD 57701
Must be able to commute reliably or relocate before start date
The impact of this role
You are the person accountable for the night. That means the crew knows the plan, sites are staffed, quality holds, issues get solved before the client sees them, and the next day’s team inherits a clean handoff — not a list of surprises.
What you will own
Direct evening operations across multiple commercial sites and keep the crew on schedule
Assign work, inspect results, and correct issues before they become client complaints
Train, coach, and hold team members to quality, safety, and food-safe standards where required
Be the evening point of contact for client requests and concerns; resolve them quickly and professionally
Track attendance, coverage, and nightly performance; flag problems early
Manage supplies and equipment so the team is never waiting on basics
Step in on the floor when the night requires it — this is a working supervisor role
Recommend process improvements that make the route faster, safer, and more consistent
Communicate a clear handoff so daytime operations and account managers are not chasing leftovers
What success looks like in the first 90 days
You know the sites, the standards, and the weak spots on each route
The crew gets a consistent nightly plan and knows who is accountable for what
Quality issues are caught by you, not by the client
Call-offs and coverage gaps are handled without scrambling the whole night
Clients and internal managers treat you as the owner of the evening shift
Required
Prior experience leading people: supervisor, team lead, shift lead, or equivalent (cleaning, facilities, hospitality, warehouse, or similar operations)
Valid driver’s license (minor moving violations okay)
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Reliable transportation and ability to move between sites during the shift
Clear, direct communication and calm problem-solving when the night goes sideways
Comfortable being on your feet, working evenings, and doing the job you expect of the team
Preferred
Commercial cleaning, janitorial, or facilities experience
Multi-site or multi-crew coordination
Experience with inspections, checklists, or basic daily reporting
Food-service, healthcare, or other regulated-environment cleaning exposure
Physical and work environment
Work is performed at active commercial client sites. Expect walking, standing, bending, light lifting, and occasional hands-on cleaning. Evening buildings are quieter, but the pace is real: multiple locations, a crew to lead, and a finish time that matters.
Who this role is for
You should apply if you want real ownership of a shift, not a title with no authority. You take pride in a clean handoff. You can coach without drama, correct work without making it personal, and still pick up a machine when the night needs it.
You should not apply if you only want to supervise from the parking lot, or if evenings and rotating weekend on-call will not work for you.
How to apply
Apply today. In your application or resume, tell us briefly: the size of the team you’ve led and the toughest shift problem you’ve had to fix.
Benefits:
Flexible schedule
Paid time off
Paid training
